Intro to Traditional Chinese Medicine

In this class we will go over the core principles and foundations of Traditional Chinese medicine. This is a great class to take to learn about TCM and what sets it apart from other herbal medicine disciplines. This class will also provide a good starting point to the longer series of classes that cover the foundations of TCM in greater detail.

PJ

Hi, I’m PJ! I am a RYT-200 teacher with a 300-hour teacher training scheduled in 2026 and several specialty continuing eds on the horizon.

For more than two decades, I’ve turned to yoga as my source of steadiness, softness, and quiet guidance. What began as a personal practice slowly grew into a calling—shaped by years of learning, unlearning, and returning to myself with humility.

Over time, my love for practice grew into a vision: to create a welcoming place where people could breathe deeply, feel supported, and be genuinely seen. From that vision comes the CYC, where I serve as a founder and co-president. Here, our aim is to cultivate a space rooted in connection, compassion, and the simple belief that healing becomes easier when we share it.

Beyond the studio, I am a multi-business entrepreneur, mother, partner and homesteader—roles that keep me grounded in the rhythms of the earth and offer daily lessons in patience, gratitude, and grace.

During business hours, I split my time between UT Cancer Center and the adjoining wellness center to the CYC. There, I offer Reiki, Fa Kung energy healing, and private yoga sessions.

My hope is that through Community Yoga Center, others discover what I’ve found along this life-giving path: a place to soften, to reconnect, and to come home to themselves

Ri

Hi! I’m Rebecca (Ri) McGhee and I’ve been helping people in our community get stronger, find balance, and manage stress for over 13 years. I also host the R&R with Ri podcast where I lead weekly guided meditations for relaxation and mindful reflection. As an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer with additional certifications in meditation and breathwork coaching, I love combining physical fitness with mindfulness practices. Throughout my career I’ve been helping people with their physical and mental health even through challenging health issues like cancer, Parkinson's, ALS, and pre- and post-surgical recovery. I’m so excited about being part of the CYC community and helping you find a sustainable approach to balanced wellness that works for you.

What I Offer at CYC

  • Functional Strength Circuit classes that are energizing, efficient, and fun—think timed stations with a variety of equipment (weights, kettlebells, bands, and bodyweight moves) focused on building strength and balance for everyday life.

  • Meditation & Breathwork classes where we explore simple, practical techniques you can use to reduce stress, improve focus and productivity, and feel more grounded.

  • Balance Screenings for anyone concerned about stability or fall risk—quick, informative assessments with personalized tips.  Balance isn't just for older adults. Your balance peaks around age 25 and starts declining from age 30. Most people don't notice until it affects their athletic performance or they suffer an injury that could have been prevented.

Whether you’re brand new to fitness or a seasoned pro, you’re welcome in my classes!

Robynn

My love for helping people came very early in my life. Raised in a military family, my dad was in the Coast Guard, my mom a nurse and grandmother was a school teacher. At 19, I joined the US Army and became a nurse. My nursing took me into many different areas of healing.

In the 80's I was in 2 car accidents that left me very injured. I was blessed to have a Massage Therapist come into my life. My nursing went into a different direction based on natural healing. One of the most beneficial therapies was Foot and Hand Reflexology. Combined with herbal therapy it was very beneficial to everyone.  I trained with Bernice, in her 80's, who taught me the benefits way beyond my expectations.

I look forward to sharing how beneficial Reflexology and Herbal therapy can be in your life.

Sarah

Before stepping into the world of energy healing, I spent 19 years in corporate global consulting, mastering root cause analysis in manufacturing processes. What I eventually realized was that this same principle applied—perhaps even more powerfully—to ourselves.  I started working at the root cause of my own emotional and physical dis-ease, paired with the power of quantum healing modalities and plant medicines. All of which was frowned upon by traditional medicine.

Now, as a Tachyon Med Bed owner (1 of 14 in the US), Sound Bed and Access Consciousness facilitator, I help others break free from the invisible chains that keep them trapped.

If you feel you’re cycling through the same emotional or physical struggles then I urge you to connect. You CAN heal yourself. You’ve just never been taught how.

SERVICES

Emotional Root Cause Counseling

Emotional Root Cause Counseling helps uncover the unresolved emotional patterns contributing to stress, physical symptoms, and repeating life challenges. Rather than focusing only on surface-level coping strategies, we identify and release the deeper emotional imprints driving imbalance. Clients gain clarity, emotional freedom, and tools for lasting change.

OPUS Sound Bed

Immerse yourself in the transcendent vibrations of the OPUS Sound Bed, a state-of-the-art vibroacoustic technology to deliver guided frequency meditations throughout your body that quickly releases you out of stress response and into a place of deep relaxation.

Tachyon Med Bed Chamber

Tachyon Energy is a zero point field which means there is no positive or negative charge...until someone accesses the field with their energetic imprint and intention.  Wherein accelerated frequencies are invoked, allowing for enhanced manifestations, calming of the nervous system, DNA repair and cellular regeneration. Tachyon has been referred to by physicists as the “Creation Particle”.  Utilizing it is an energy amplifier to create positive outcomes and healing as you desire.

Access Consciousness - “Running the Bars”

This technique involves gentle touch on 32 points on the head designed to calm the mind and support greater balance between analytical and intuitive thinking. Many people find they operate primarily from the left or right brain. This process helps create a sense of mental clarity and cohesion.

Clients commonly report a noticeable release of self-judgment, reduced concern about others’ expectations, and a greater sense of internal freedom. Within about 15 minutes, the body often enters a deeply relaxed state—similar to theta brainwave patterns—allowing for deeper emotional shifts and lasting change.

Ceremonial Hapéh

Hapéh (pronounced ha-peh ) is a sacred shamanic snuff used by Indigenous tribes of the Amazon for centuries. Made from finely ground tobacco (Nicotiana rustica) and a blend of medicinal plants, ashes, and other natural ingredients, rapé is blown into the nostrils using a special applicator called a Tepi (administered by another person) or Kuripe (self-administered).

Traditionally, hapéh is used in ceremonial and healing practices to cleanse the mind, open spiritual awareness, connect with higher consciousness and to deeply ground into the earth.

Kundalini Support

Kundalini is often described as the primal life force energy that lies dormant at the base of the spine until awakened.  Once activated, it travels up through the chakras (energy centers). This often leads to heightened awareness, and oftentimes profound spiritual side effects involving physical, emotional, and mental shifts.

Kundalini awakenings require a deep understanding of both the spiritual and psychological dimensions of the experience. it can also bring challenges and confusion for those going through it. Kundalini is a beautiful gift that just needs to be understood.

Wendy

I've been interested in human development throughout my entire professional career, beginning with my graduate studies in education and my later work in nonprofits that supported retired and senior volunteers and the spiritual development of children, youth, and adults. In 2017, I folded life coaching into my professional skills and began working 1:1 with people seeking personal growth and transformation. A year later I learned of a modality called biodynamics and began to study and practice this offering. As we continue to grow and evolve as human beings, individually and collectively, my greatest desire is to support each person's innate potential. I believe it's vital that we take the space to slow down, explore what matters most to us, and settle again into being who we really are.

PARA Coaching

para ~ Originally, the prefix "para-" came from Greek and means "next to" and "side by side" and also a sense of "moving or going beyond"

Pause Attune  Reflect  Align

PARA Coaching gets to the essence: I know who I am, what my priorities and values are, and how I wish to show up and BE in the world. When we are grounded, centered, and orienting from our True Selves, we are free to express our creative forces and shape the trajectory of our lives. The art of transformation allows us to be exquisitely free in finding the reaches of our human potential and experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful existence.

*Please note: I offer a sliding scale to make this service more accessible to everyone who seeks coaching for their personal growth.

Biodynamic Cranial Approach

1:1 BCA session space is one outside of treatment models, therapeutic intent, or manipulation to body or of energy. Simply put, this is a space of Presence and Stillness in being with the subtle yet potent truth of our body’s innate impulse towards Wholeness. Wholeness as health is one of the core principles of this modality.

Sessions take place in silence, within a spaciousness free of distraction and overt environmental sound. Those receiving in the session lie on a massage table and are supported by pillows and bolsters and swaddled in blankets as needed to create comfortable, easeful relaxation so the human person and body are able to drop into stillness and into deeper and deeper layers of being.

Events

Biodynamic Group Session

In our spacious 2-hour group session, participants will move between sitting in meditation/quiet stillness, reposing in comfortable supportive “nests” of their own making on the floor, and lying on massage tables. In this biodynamic open session format, Wendy will move as moved by the greater field to be in contact with participants on the tables. The “work” is being worked through all present, whether or not touch contacts are made directly. We are in a group field that is informed by our presence.

Depth over time is how these restorative states, that are always available, are accessed. Together we drop into stillness and into deeper and deeper layers of being. The biodynamic field allows a space for the body’s natural and instinctive processes that need no other assistance or intervention to enact their wisdom.

This event will be offered quarterly at CYC. Wendy is a 3-time graduate of the Touch of Presence® School of Biodynamic Studies. After completing two year long intensives as a student, she continued her studies in the Biodynamic Cranial Approach as an assistant in the 2024/25 intensive. Offered on a sliding scale of $10-$30.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation that ushers the body into deep states of relaxation. Known as "psychic sleep" or "alert rest," this type of meditation journeys into  the mysterious realm lying between the conscious and dream state. This liminal space or hypnagogic state enables us to effortlessly harness the restorative power of delta brain waves which are typically found in deep, restful sleep. Regular practice of this ancient art contributes to a sense of inner peace and increased mental and physical well being. Offered on the first Wednesday of the month, 3 pm.

Wendy received a 30 hour Yoga Nidra training certificate from Shivashakti School of Yoga in 2019.
